Katrina Smith is an award-winning journalist with more than 15 yrs experience working in the media as a television news anchor, reporter and correspondent. She can give you an "insiders" view on dealing with the media and communicating effectively. Her news stories have aired on CNN, NBC , ABC and FOX television networks.
In her broadcasting career, Katrina has asked some of the toughest questions. She now helps those on the other side of the camera and microphone answer the tough questions reporters ask in her media training programs. It’s her passion for helping others become successful and seeing a need for media training, especially among athletes that lead her to create her own company Sports Media Edge in 2001. Sports Media Edge is the sports division of her PR, Branding and Marketing firm VIP Public Relations, Inc. In 2005, Katrina was featured in Essence Magazine for the work she does with professional athletes. She also coach and consults with entertainers, entrepreneurs and sports professionals on personal branding strategies to help them stand out, get noticed and get paid what they are worth. Katrina works regularly as a TV spokesperson, voice-over talent, commercial model and freelance journalist. Her credits include Honda, Acceptance Insurance, Tennessee Lottery, On Star, Ford, Dollar General, Captain D’s, Toyota and Zappo's to name a few. In 2009, she made her acting debut in Walt Disney’s Box Office hit, “Hannah Montana: The Movie” in which she played the role of “The Mayor’s Wife.” In 2010 she landed another principal role as a “News Reporter” in the drama film “Country Strong” starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. Since then she's been cast in a TV pilot for CBS called “Hail Mary” which stars Minnie Driver.
Katrina's experience in entertainment , public relations and the media has given her the experience and expertise to consult with clients in the areas of personal branding, media relations, publicity, talent development, crisis communications.
